Saturday, June 17 2018, I went to a Night On The Red Carpet. Aka, a prom. It was a prom for the students at Hidden Treasures Academy and Special Friends (I’ve written about HTA before. If you would like to know more about them, you can read my blog about visiting there with my book, or visit them on Facebook at Hidden Treasures Academy Inc. They are a wonderful group that I love doing things with and for.) I was going as a buddy, along with about 15 other people, boys and girls alike.
We all had a blast! Dancing for an hour and a half solid, jumping up and down, clapping constantly, doing crazy dance moves to crazy songs- yup, I was slightly sore afterwards. Meaning, I take a step, and my calves hate me and say “Ow. Ow. Ow.” And yeah. I’m still sore.
But I have never had so much fun! This was my first dance ever, actually several buddies first dance, since quite a few of us have been homeschooled. I met two other girls, sisters, named Sarah and Hannah. And two boys, brothers, Ben and Christian. (If you know me at all, you know I’m very outgoing and always searching for new friends. Well, I found them!) The five of us pretty much created a dance group. And boy, did we dance. I don’t even know what some of our moves were, but it was fun!
I was able to dance with a lot of the students, and got to know some really sweet people. I had an absolute blast, and I am super excited for next year’s prom! Keep up the good work, HTA!
