Here in Tennessee, we enjoy the simple things in life.
Now, that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy special nights out, shopping, and parties. Most of us do. But we can also appreciate the small things too.
Our music played out on the porch. Going on long car rides in the mountains to see the fall colors. Family get-togethers that bring us closer to each other.
Right now, it is autumn in the Smoky Mountains. And it’s BEAUTIFUL. The leaves have finally turned, we have been steady within the 50-60 degree weather. It’s a little chilly, but I can finally wear my beanies and sweaters without getting weird looks. 😉
Fall is my favorite time of the year. And for me, it’s one of the most inspiring. I have had so many writing ideas, that I’ve been too busy to think about blogs! (Which I apologize for. Sorry its been so long!) And, I’m so excited for all the holidays! Past, and coming up.
For Halloween, I was actually Witch Hazel Black from The Forest of Fayleen. As evil as she is, she was one of my favorite characters to write about. Because I feel like she’s a bit relatable. Jealousy of a sibling is so common, and being too prideful to admit your failure is even more common. It corrupted a sweet, innocent girl. By hopefully if I can show people what it really does, I can stop those problems in time.
Thanksgiving is coming up soon too, and a large family reunion is in order for my family. A time to cherish the family that I’ve been blessed with. Something that inspired me majorly about Lane, was that even though she only had her grandparents, she loved them and appreciated them. Even though it took a while for her to warm up to the idea. Not to mention she had a brand new wonderful family in The Forest. Family isn’t always biological, nor created by a legal document. Sometimes, its just… felt.
And last but not least…… CHRISTMAS!!!!! My favorite holiday. ❤ I’m so excited. I can’t wait for the tree, the stories, the joy. Even though I haven’t included Christmas into my books (yet), I hope to write a book specifically around Christmas time. I have some ideas, but it may take a bit. How would you guys like a Christmas themed short story? Let me know if you like the idea!
All these holidays and events are simple, by its the things we enjoy most.
Coincidence? I don’t think so. 🙂
Well, enjoy this fall air! And the simple things. 😉
